Was I wrong??? I made this somewhat nice breakfast...eggs, toast & milk/juice...nothing fancy but not just cereal, LOL! Remington refused to eat! I finally turned the TV off and told him if he didn't eat then he had to go back to bed! He still refused so I put him in his room, in bed. Yeah, he cried but eventually came out and ate 4 bites of eggs and 2 bites of toast, drank all his milk! I'm just so sick of him not eating and then wanting JUNK!!! I know that you all probably don't think that was very mean but it sure felt like it was.

Plus, Dh is being a JERK this morning and after I made his "night" a good one, LOL! You would think he'd be a little nicer, LOL! He is mad because it snowed and he can't work on the van. It has something wrong with the wheel and he doesn't really have the tools to fix it but did borrow one from a co-worker and wants to get it back to him ASAP. So, right now we only have one Car and if I need to go somewhere in the afternoon/evening I have to take him to work and pick him up(at 11pm). I'm not complaining b/c I don't do much in the evenings anyhow but he's acting like it's the end of the WORLD! He also said he was up with Saige through the night and didn't get much sleep, BOO HOO!!! Like I haven't done that before!!!

Anyhow, Thanks for letting me vent!

Have a good one!

Misty - who's hoping if I play an April Fools joke on Dh he won't totally go over the edge, LMBO!!!

Misty, I hope your day gets better! As for the breakfast, I don't think you are being mean at all! I think wanting your son to eat healthy is a great thing! I think, eventually, if you keep being persistent with encouraging him to eat healthy, he'll do it without a fight. It sounds like you are a great mommy who wants the best for your children! Your kids are very lucky to have you!!!

Yikes, hope your day gets better, Misty! If my kids ask for specific food, then I make sure that they do eat it. And it gets so frustrating when all they want are snacks and junk. They don't get away with it often!

Hi Misty. I never know what to do about food issues. i do insist on healthy choices though. I think I read somewhere that the best approach (not saying I do it cause I get frustrated too) is to say fine and not make a big deal, wrap up the healthy food and put it in the fridge. When they are hungry you just bring that out so that they eat it first. We do have a fruit before a treat rule that is strictly enforced. My MIL practically force-feeds my neices and nephews--it is horrible to watch. I won't let her do that with my kids. I get all worried sometimes about making food a big deal as I don't want them ending up with eating disorders or other food issues. My kids would never eat a thing if they ate with the tv on. Maybe you could turn the tv on after they've eaten?

Good luck

Judy
