I have a dumb doctor question...

We recently moved to a different city, so I wont be able to use the same obgyn that I saw when I was pregnant with Belle. When I saw my doctor last week, I asked if she could refer me to a new doctor where I live now, and she said I have to find one that I want to use, and she will forward my history to the new doctor.

I only know 1 person who lives where I do now, and she had her kids in a different city. How do I go about finding a new obgyn? I dont really feel comfortable openeing the yellow pages kwim? Since I dont know anyone personally who has delivered here, how do I do this?

Lesely,

I don't know if you have this in Canada but here we have a 1-800 doctors online and you can call the free number. You put where you live and it gives you a list. Some of the doctors have filled in profiles that tell you a little of their history and phylosophy.

Also I know there is Canada board on Ivillage, maybe if you post a message there, someone in or near your area can tell you.

good luck!

What about calling the hospital? Find out if there are doctors that the nurses recommend? Or call the children's hospital and ask them. That is a tough question, but that is where I would start.
