I really, REALLY want another baby! Dh and I both were talking about babies a lot and jokingly I said "Hey lets have another baby!" to my suprise Dh said OKAY!

He said he has been thinking about it, and has been wanting to try again. I do to but... I have already had two c-sections and the thought of another one is pretty scarey to me. I am not sure why I am scared, both c-sections turned out great, I even did not need any pain medication afterwards. I recovered very quickly, so I am not sure why I am so afraid. Has anyone here had more than one c-section? Or does anyone know someone who did or any recourses about it?

Thanks

Traci

Woo hoo - fun fun fun for you huh!?!

I have had three c-sections. Kaelyn was a c-section due to 36 hours of induced labor which I only dilated to 5 and she wasn't going to fit anyway. She only weighed 7lbs5oz. She lost 1/2" in her birth length after her head rounded out from the conehead she had from trying to squeeze in there but wasn't going to fit!

Kyle was going to be a VBAC but he grew and the sonogram's were showing him to be about 8 lbs and we didn't want to chance labor again if I was going to end up w/a c-section anyway so we scheduled the section. Kyle weighed in at 8lbs4oz.

Jacob was a scheduled section from the get go. He weighed 9lbs10oz!!!

I recovered much quicker in my 2nd and 3rd sections. Getting back into physical condition after my 3rd one though is taking a bit longer. Jacob will be 2 November 30 and I am just able to do any sort of aerobics or floor exercises without feeling like I was run over by a truck the next day. But everyone is different!!

I say go for it if you both want another child. It's so exciting!

Thanks so much for posting.

I was really curious about something you said...

Nick is fixing to turn 3 and I am just now feeling like I can really start to exercise! I swear I can still not feel it when I do sit ups. No one told me about this so I thought it was just me. I recovered and was able to get around really quickly after I had Nick but just could not seem to get into shape no matter what I did! It makes me feel a little more encouraged after you post. I have decided that before we try I am going to take maybe 3 to

Yep, it takes quite a bit after have a section to just get back into the rythym of things. I still have numbness below my belly button. I have a slight sensation but nothing really out there. I can pinch myself in that area and barely feel anything. If I have an itch I can scratch it and get this weird, almost hurting, feeling but it takes awhile to get rid of the itch.

Good luck with your yoga - it's good to be in as best shape as possible when starting a pregnancy.

I want another right now, but I still have 2 years till I get done with graduate school. I couldn't imagine doing all the work I'm doing with a second kid around. My dh doesn't want anymore kids, but will still have one more because we agreed to two before we got married. We'll have one more when I'm done with school.

Wow, how exciting! I am 8 weeks pregnant with our 3rd baby, will be 3rd c-section. I also agree that it was much harder to get back in shape after the 2nd. But my recovery went faster with the 2nd one. I am also terrified of having another c-section! My first surgey was very painful, and my second- i didnt feel a thing. So I'm kinda wondering how this one will go. I think you should go for it! From what i can see, you are in a very happy family, and you really enjoy your children. Good luck! And let us know what happens!
