I need help. My 8 month old daughter is in the process of getting her first tooth and it has turned my usually happy baby into such a sad little girl. She does not like cold so putting anything cold to her gums is out. I'm going out this afternoon to get some baby orajel but I heard that doesn't work well due to baby's excess drooling. Anyone with suggestions to help my poor babe? I will welcome all suggestions. It makes me sad to see her so sad. Thanks!

you can try to find a teether that vibrates for her to chew on. It helped my son with his first tooth. IT doesn't have to be cold. You can find them for sure at Target in the baby section. My son loved it and still has it but doesn't use it.

Try a frozen bagel. I heard this works well.
I know you said she does not like cold, but maybe with it being food, she would not mind.

DD hates frozen teethers or washcloths but loves a frozen bagel! Use the whole wheat tho.

Try an old fashioned wood spoon to cook with. The wood won't splinter and it's hard enough to

What about a cool, damp wash cloth, or just a good teething ring (not cold.) Tylenol every four hours could help too. Oragel helped my son and he drooled much more than my daughter. It does not seem to work well for her. The pharmacist recommended oragel and tylenol over herbal remedies. Sometimes just a good distraction helps too. Baby Mozart video worked like a charm for my son's uphappy moments. Good luck!
