I am really sorry for your dance teacher. That's a very nice idea! You could look online or go to the library or book store for ideas. I'm sure there are books of poetry just on mother son relationships or dealing with loss. Good luck.

That's so sad! I'm sure that she'll appreciate knowing you're thinking of her--it will have to be a really tough mother's day for her. I'm not sure if you'd have time to do this, but one thought I had was to make a scrap book for her of "Little Dancer's Feet"--I'm making one like that of little hands for a teacher who's retiring. Take paint trays and tempera paint, and get each girl in the dance class to put her footprints on a heavy piece of scrap book paper, sign the page and write a note to the instructor. If you know any moms who were students when they were little, add those pages too. The scrap book section at Walmart has lots of inexpensive little add ons, and I saw some little dance shoes and outfit cut outs the last time I was there. You could punch holes in the pages, tie it all up with ribbon, and give her a book full of little feet that she's touched in her life. It might be nice for her to have a reminder of all of the people that she can still help and who appreciate her... :) It's a really sweet thing to remember her, though, because so many people are somehow afraid of saying of doing anything that might bring up the topic of the loss when someone looses a loved one!
