Ideas for rainy days?

So, what to do? I have a 3.5 yo boy and a 14mth girl. Raining cats and dogs today and I just don't feel like wandering aimlessly (and expensively) through the mall/grocery store. TV has been on way too much today. Kids have had a bath (for entertainment), done a mini craft (with low interest) and pulled out almost all toys in the basement. My energy level is low so not much initiative today. Help!

What do you like to do with your kids, especially preschool age, on rotten weather days?

How can you get them to self-entertain (so I can tackle the huge pile of chores!)?

How do you keep from falling into the turning on the TV habit?

How do you energize yourselves when you can't easily get out?

All ideas welcome!

Thanks,

Pam

Pam,

My kids love playing camp out in their room on rainy days. I set up a tent with a sheet and give them some snacks and such. They watch a movie or play pretend.

I try not to be their entertainment director to much or that could lead into them not using their imagination.

I have a hard time on rainy days getting anything done as well. I usually end up reading a book and just enjoying myself.

Maybe someone will have some better ideas.

Good luck!
