I'm miserable! Happy Easter

Noah has been sick for a few days and he passed it along to his mom and dad last night. It was so strange. It hit us at the exact same time. I had Noah in the living room and DH was in the kitchen starting dinner and my throat just began to burn and then DH says, "honey, my throat hurts". To make a long story short, we didn't sleep well (on top of Friday night where we didn't get but four hours of sleep either) and DH wouldn't call in today because he thought no one would believe him for being sick on a holiday.

What makes it even worse is that I have so much to do today. We're not eating Easter dinner until eight because that is when DH is going to be home but FIL is coming over for dinner also so I have to clean the house, I made a carrot cake and now I have to frost it, plus I have to start dinner in about two hours and I have both of my final papers due for my classes today and I'm not finished with them yet. Then my MIL called and there is an emergency they need DH for. I wasn't going to call back (they left a message) but then I felt bad for not calling back and called. Turns out they haven't done their taxes and have no internet or phone at their home right now and they need DH to do their taxes on our computer over the phone with them. It's a bit confusing but I just said "okay, call back later and he'll do it for you."

All i want to do is just go lay down and take a really long nap. I should have napped with Noah earlier, he was out for 2-3 hours while I baked away in the kitchen. I was feeling okay then, but now it's in my sinuses and I can't stop sniffing and my head is pounding. I hope Dh will take tomorrow off so we can both rest and alternate baby cares.

Happy Easter, everyone.

Awww, Tarra, you poor girl! I hope you are feeling better today! Did you get your MIL taxes done? How did dinner go?

Hugs to you!!

Dinner turned out pretty good. I super medicated myself to make it two more hours and finish everything up. I cooked a ham, mashed potatoes, corn, gravy, a carrot cake, deviled eggs, cut up veggies for a veggie tray and you know what? FIL didn't even show up. I went through this whole thing, basically just for my husband. He said everything was good and looked really nice but I was upset. I cooked and cleaned literally all day long because we were supposed to have company. :( Oh well. DH made me feel good about it, even though I felt like crap.

DH wanted me to do the taxes last night so I did for his step-dad. It took almost two hours and I missed Desperate Housewives. DH said I was more "booksmart" than he was and he didn't understand that stuff. Because I did our taxes (and taxes period for the first time in my life) I'm an expert. LOL

Easter got better once DH got home though. We went to bed pretty early too.

You should be proud of yourself for getting through all of that...and sick to boot! I hope today you got to rest!
