Did my snoopy dance and all that! LOL Okay, my son attends Cub Scout Day Camp every year. Usually I volunteer to be a Den Leader or helper of some kind. This year I didn't. Last year we had a storm come up on the last day and I had children in different places that scared the heck out of me. Since I knew where my son was and that he was fine I ran through the rain to find my girls and make sure they were safe and alright. They were so scared! So I decided I couldn't do that again. It was too much for me. Having my chicks all spread out and in a very open location. So, why am I so excited. I got a call today asking me to be the Quartermaster this year!! YAY! I get to sit in the main building in air condition near my girls and get snacks all counted out, get awards all ready for the next morning. I am basically in charge of the nit and gritty of the day camp! I am so excited!! They saw I hadn't signed up for Den Leader this year, which I didn't think anyone would even notice, and thought of me to be Quartermaster. How about that? Best of all though is my girls won't be far from me and if something comes up again this year I can go grab them and see if my son is alright too. I'll get to decide who gets certain awards for a few things, like trash beads and pride beads (all dens make up a song or chant they sing as they go from one session to another.) This is an all day event from 8am to 3pm all outside for the boys and den leaders involved. Very few get to work in the main building getting stuff ready for the next day. I paid this area lots of visits when I could cause of the air condition. It was heaven for me. LOL Probably why they remember me every year! LOL Not really, I know a lot of the Leacers of our district and one was in our Pack we left after moving. She was a good friend.
