I came across this editorial that I wanted to post on here because it had to do with the article that caused such a big hoo-plah on this board not too long ago about whether moms should work to ensure their futures should their husbands die, divorce them or lose their job. Here's the link:

It is an editorial by Dr. Laura which I know some of you don't like but I do so *ppthhthththth*(raspberry). Anyway, it is very encouraging of women to stay home and be their kid's moms as she feels strongly about this. I just thought it was interesting because apparenting the woman who wrote that article actually wrote a book on the same topic and that is where Dr. Laura is commenting. Okay, good night.

Raquel - This is not a debate article. If you aren't interested, move on to another post. No need to be nasty.

Hi Ladies,
We are very glad that you all are able to have these discussions.
MUAH Tarra!
I agree, it got a chuckle out of me too, no need for offense here....people will say what they say, what can ya do, right?
good luck on the little pumpkin gettin born soon. There are classic books on this topic when you get a chance, Penelope Leeche's "Putting Children First", i think it was written in the 70's and also another classic "The Continuum Concept", i don't know Dr. Laura, but, she has a point, however, i think the only people who may be influenced by glamour magazine may be 16 year old girls. Anyway, this is my opinion. You are of course allowed to express yourself freely,we have free speech. I feel you were sharing a topic that was something you believed in by someone in the media also, basically supporting your position, which is great. Someone may get offended in that they may not share your personal zeal on the topic, nor possibly find it objective what you posted, or accurate since it may not support a position they believe in. Personally in this country (Greece) people argue all the time, just for the sake of arguing sometimes, and they don't shut others out when they don't agree with their position. In the west though, people are much more rigid with their views about political issues, and shut out each other when they differ. If you decide to read Leach, you will see how it is a political issue this staying at home or going to work. But, again this is my oppinion, take what you like and leave the rest, i am not a dictator, Yet LOL!!
