Is it tacky....

My son is in camp and it ends this week. He has 2 college students as counselors. He also has been not the easiest this summer. He refused to go swimming the first week and up until recently they have had to goad/bribe/make him go into the water.

Usually at the end of camp/school, I give a nice gift. I was thinking this year that I would just slip a twenty into a card for each of them. I have NO idea what they would like, they need the money (all college kids do), and I have just been to damn ill to go shopping for gifts.

So, would that be tacky? I would write a nice note with it.

Maybe some little thank you token from a gift store. That way each time they saw it they would remember your son and how much they helped him. Just a thought! Good luck!

I would think that since they are strangers that it would be perfectly acceptable to give them a gift of money. I would however put it on some kind of gift card.

good luck!

I haven't read the responses so I hope I'm not just repeating what everyone else has said, but I'm thinking that slipping a $20 into a thank you card would be okay, not tacky at all, ALL college kids would appreciate a little extra cash :0), on the other hand, if you are uncomfortable with it, how about getting a gift certificate to a superstore or somewhere that sells cd's??? HTHs.

I think a gift card would be better. Cash does not go well with young people

I know how hard it can be when you are in school so I wanted to give them cash so they could blow it on pizza and beer if they want (after camp is over of course..LOL)

How fun is it to get a gift so you can buy things you need? :)
