Ivan has come back, it is now a tropical storm and in the Gulf. They are expecting some flooding in Galveston and Houston. It is supposed to rain here all day and through the week :(

We are fortunate that our home is up high so I don't think(knock on wood) we have anything to worry about but I am filling up the bathtub to make sure the we have water if the electricity goes out.

Hope anyone in the path stays safe!

Yuck! I heard that on the news this morning. I have some good friends down in your area as well. Sure hope it goes away soon! GO AWAY IVAN (and don't make room for any of your friends)!

Ugh, I know it!!! It's raining here this morning in Corpus Christi but it's from a front of some sort coming through from the North and then there is a little something that was off the Gulf, from Ivan I think, that came in as well or is still coming in and it's causing the rain. Jacob and I had an eventful time getting out of the van after dropping the kids at school! I unbuckled him while still in the van so I could get him out quikcly because it was raining so hard and when I jumped out he was leaning against the van sliding door and he practically fell out of the van but he got wedged between the door and the seat...head down no less...and then he started crying becuase I went back out to grap the biscuits we picked up for our breakfast! The rain scared him. He's eaten, drank some juice and is now laying the chair about asleep =}

Hoping that Ivan doesn't cause too much trouble up your way. Hoping that nothing comes our way either - Bryan is on the Hurricane Crew at the refinery and if something comes in he has stay there until the refinery gives the OK for them...doesn't matter what the city says. Which also means that the kids and I are on our own until he gets to come home - however many days/nights it takes!! Oh well - I love a good storm - you can tell me later what a doofus I am for saying that.

Sherrie =}

Good luck!

OK, I'm having a remedial moment but why do you need to fill up the tub if the electricity goes out? Do you have a well with an electric pump?

We are on city water and I never did anything like that when we lost power during the hurricane. Should I have?

I know the ladies up in Asheville lost potable water because of the flooding and needed water in the tub to do things like flush the toilet.

I hope you stay dry.

Yes, we do have well water. If lights go out, no water. There is no-one around me with city water. Thank goodness we do have gase heating, because we can cook no matter what. The electic company's are HORRIBLE about getting to the rural areas, so we have to be prepared.

This hurricane has overcome its welcome I think.
How weird for it to come right back and hit those people again for the second time.
I hope it is not too bad.
We are now watching yet another that is suppose to hit my town here in GA on Sunday.... ugh
