I've missed everyone. I haven't been on the board in a few days. I came down with a bad stomach virus. Michael told me it's called a Norovirus, and he's treated a lot of it in the ER in the past month, and it makes you VERY sick. He's not kidding! I threw up all night Sunday, and then ran a fever of 102 and had one of the worst headaches I've ever had!! I couldn't even get out of bed, except to get sick. I pretty much slept all day Monday and yesterday.
Last night my fever broke, and today I'm feeling sooooooo much better! Wow, I feel human again!! But I don't have all my energy back yet. Today is also the first day I've eaten anything since Sunday, which came back up again (sorry for the gruesome details). I lost 4 pounds in 3 days! I actually need to put back on a pound or two, I'm not looking good at all. I finally am getting my appetite back.
Thank God for my wonderful loving husband who took SUCH great care of me. He worked all night Sunday night, came home early when I called him that I was puking, got the boys off to school, and STAYED UP all day to watch the kids, help with homework, cook dinner, put the kids to bed, and take care of me. He was up 36 hours with no sleep! I guess medical residency trained him for those long marathons with no sleep, but I did feel bad. He never complained, never bothered me, just took care of business. He took off work yesterday, because I was still running a fever, and watched the kids all day and dealt with getting all of them to school (including the girls!), etc. He even managed to squeeze in getting me a bouquet of Get Well flowers and a card. He has been such a total love!!
I missed my first class yesterday. There was no way I could make it. I could barely walk, I was so out of it! I just hope all I missed was going over the syllabus, and stuff like that. Not that it really matters, I'm not taking it for credit, but I feel so bad to have missed on the first day! I was nervous enough going back to school! I'll speak to the professor tomorrow, and if I need a doctor's note. . . well. . . I can get that at home, LOL!
I am PRAYING no one else in my house gets this virus. Michael has already missed work because I've been sick, so it would suck for him to get sick. And the kids, well. . . stomach virus as virulent as this one is a TOTAL DRAG with little kids. It's constant cleaning and disinfecting of bodily effluvia. They never make it to the bathroom at 3 years old!!
It's going to take me a while to catch up on the board, but I'm glad to be back. At least this Norovirus was pretty short-lived, but I don't recommend it!!

Sofia!!
Ugh! Sorry you have been sick. I'm glad Michael was able to help with the kids and such. What a good dh. :)
I guess there's an outbreak Norovirus here that's causing people to have to be hospitalized, but they're covering it up, I only know its going on b/c my mom works for one of the big hospitals here.
Hope you continue to feel better.
That is awful!! How nice of MIchael to help soo much, you are soo lucky to have him. I hope noone else in your house catches your illness and you are 100% soon!:)
Oh Sofia!!!
That's what I had last month so I KNOW how aweful it is!
What a terrible bug!!
yuck Sofia, that sounds exactly like how dh and I have been for the last 3 days. I am just starting to feel semi normal now. Tomorrow dh is going back to work. We've both had fevers between 101-102.5 for 3 days, and dh was delirious at one point. He wasn't vomiting, but I have been. Its so gross. I hope you are better and your babies dont get it!
Oh, Sofia, that sounds just awful!
LOL Wendy! Who knows?? I'm sure he brings a lot of things in from work! Once in a while, we get unlucky. But then, I could have picked it up in the grocery store, too, for all I know. He's pretty careful about washing his hands constantly, and uses completely sterile technique at work, always gloving up and following the federal guidelines, so I think it's probably more likely I got it somewhere else. But I'll never know. The lucky thing is, no one else in the house has gotten sick yet, and Michael told me the incubation window is closing here pretty soon, so maybe my kids and he will escape this one.
Thanks for your well wishes, everyone! I'm pretty much better today :)
That stomach flu is pretty nasty!
