My niece is over and I really really wish I enjoyed spending time with her more.

Good for you for having high expectations for your kids! Just remember that until age 7, kids can be +/- 2 years developmentally and that discrepancy can very between different skill areas (so they may do some things as well as a kid 2 yrs older and can be 2 yrs behind in other skills). So go ahead and have high expectations, but try to base it on the kid and not the age. :) I do know its frustrating when a relative's kid does not behave in the way you expect them to though. I would agree though that a 3 yo should be able to come and sit down when it's time to eat. I have a neice who is just like that. But she's 6 and that's a whole different story! ;) Sorry to hear about the well business. It really does sound like you need to get someone else in there. Hope you get it all worked out!

The well failed again... I'm so frustrated with the well guy and with all of this. I talked to another lab and we may try doing it ourselves this weekend and having this other person test it. This has been going on for 2 1/2 months... seriously this guy either doesn't know what he is doing or there is something wrong with the well, something... I don't know what happens with the buyer if the rate runs out, do they have to do all the paperwork again or could it just make the payment go up... who knows.

Niece... we don't have the Candyland castle game, just the regular board game and this DVD game that Luke likes. I guess I'm just used to Luke and since they are the same age I have the same expectations. I don't think my expectations are unrealistic for an almost 4 year old but maybe. I understand she's their youngest and I do think I baby JT more than when Luke was little so I'm starting to watch that and insist JT does things on his own. He is in a "can't do it" stage which is both amusing and annoying. I just don't want him to be almost 4 and not be able to do anything for himself.

I hope you were able to get the well tested. Are interest rates lower now than they were when the buyer was locked in?

Has your niece ever tried the Candy Land Castle game? Lucy's loved it since she was about 2.
