We have the Tag Reader and the Tag Jr.

Lucy is 4, right? Would the Tag reader be OK for her or is the Jr better? I'd really like both JT and Luke to be able to use which ever one we get. JT runs his iXL pretty good and he'll be 3 in Aug. The reader itself doesn't seem unreasonable but the books are pretty expensive.

We don't have the Leapfrog one, but we do have a My First Story Reader.

That is the one we have too. Nice idea but it tends to be a hassle and not really kid friendly. Ours was a gift when Alex was younger and we've picked up a few more books along the way. The kids love it when I get it down but they don't ask for it if I keep it on an upper shelf.

Yes, she's 4. I think Ian was 5 when we bought him the Tag Reader. I think the Tag Reader would be OK. Lucy likes the Jr. better, but it's a lot smaller and fits better in her hand. She's outgrown the stories, though. There seems to be a larger book selection for the Tag Reader than the Tag Jr. I've seen some decent deals on the books on Craigslist and at our local resale shops.

Thanks, I was worried about Luke outgrowing the Tag Jr books. I'll have to look into getting the books used.

Yeah, the Tag Jr. books are just small board books. They're pretty quick to outgrow.
