Sigh - every year, MIL's side of the family gets together for a picnic at a water park. My girls love it, because of the water park. DH and I don't like it at all, because of the family memebers who attend. MIL's brothers have kids who are in their early 20's. All of them do drugs, have children out of wedlock, end up in prison, etc. Not people we normally socialize with. I can't stand it. Anyway, dh just informed me that he now has to work that day - so I get to go BY MYSELF!!! Uuugghhh. I'm only doing it for my MIL, who tries hard to encourage some sort of family order on her side of the family. I told dh he owes me big time!!! It is not until the 30th, so there is still time for things to change at work, but its not likely.
Thanks for letting me vent.
Wendy

Even if you have to go alone, I hope you have a good time.
LOL, well, now you have it made. Someone to complain with about being there
oh but Wendy, they're setting such a good example for your kids! (huge sarcasm here)
seriously, we've had some problems like that in my family, and as hard as it is, sometimes you just have to love & pray for them and go on. The important thing is just to teach your children what's right and
your comment about being young and having children out of wedlock offended me. DH and I had our first 2 children TOGETHER before we were married, or " out of wedlock." And we were both young. That doesnt make you any better than us just b/c you were married b4 you had you children. No need to respond, as I know you "don't like to associate" with people like me. -chrissy
Chrissy,
I myself have a sister who had a child with her now dh before they got married. I just don't agree with it, is all. I love my sister and my nephew, not any less than I would have if she had been married when she had him. It is just not the way I was raised. I should maybe clarify that most of these young girls are setting a bad example as they have multiple children, with different fathers, who are in prison, on the run, etc. I apologize if you took it the wrong way. It is hard for me to explain to an 8 y/o and a 5 y/o. I'm sorry.
