Hello everyone, I am a first time mother to a beautiful four month old baby boy. He weighs about 16 lbs and is about 26" long. Since I had him I became a stay at home mom and could'nt be happier. I recently started him on a teaspoon of cereal a day on my own. If there is anyone out there that can send me some advice or is in a similar situation please email me. Lets become friends and support eachother as we bring up our beautiful children.

Hi there! We have a lot in common! I am a first time mother to a 4 month old baby girl. Her name is Alyssa. I have had her on cereal for about 6 weeks now. She eats cereal and fruit with her morning bottle, a bottle only for lunch, cereal and veggies with her bottle in the late afternoon (about 4:00) and a bottle before she is put down for the night. She loves it! I am amazed at how she is growing so quickly! I would love to hear from you.

first time sahm to 4mth old boy. Justino. he's a little over 18lbs now as you can see from his pics he's a big well fed baby.. he just started cereal this week..until now he has been stricktly bf..(we tried 1supp btle at night so dh could feed him too but the formula was leading to a long 3mths of colic behavior which has thankfully ended.. ) he loves the cereal!! since he is just starting off i have been giving it to him once a day midday. due to his tummy upsets easily and it would not be fun at night... but

What a handsome little guy you have!! I am glad to hear that the colic has ended. I heard that is no fun! Alyssa is going for her 4 month appt on Friday and her second round of shots. She handles them much better than I do! She has started to roll around these last few days. It seems like I was pg just yesterday and now she is rolling! I just wish it wasn't so cold so we could go outside somewhere. With the windchill today it is -22. Hurry up spring!!

Those pictures are SOOO cute. 18 pounds at 4 months that is crazy to me. My 18 month old is only 18 pounds. Granted she is a little tyke. My kids have all been on the smaller side between 17-22 pounds at 1 year for the most part.

Congrats to all you with 4 month olds.

Laura,

My dh and I are talking about ttc our second child. Right now Alyssa is 19 weeks old. I noticed that your children are close in range. Any suggestions?

Thanks,

I really like them close. A year apart is a challenge, two years apart was always our goal with the first five but the biggest we got was 17 months there. We have our lagest gap between Mikel and Ceaira at just shy of 3 years. That is a breeze for us, it seems like a really large gap but it has been really nice. The older one is totally out of the baby/toddler stage and onto preschool age. The rest are a year to 17 months apart. Once again 17 months is easier than a year apart. It is really fun to have them close together because they are really good friends and play well together. It is a lot of work but worth it.

Hi,

My situation is exactly like yours: I am a 1st time mom to an almost 5-month-old (20 1/2 weeks) son and also stay at home. He went to the Dr. today and is 17 lbs. and 26 in. I also just started him on a tiny bit of rice cereal on Jan. 1. Since you and I are 1st time moms and are at about the same stage, I probably can't give you any advice. But if you tell me things that concern you, maybe I can offer you ways I deal with things and vice versa. Or it would still be nice just to hear things that you do with your son, your schedule and I can tell you about how Matthew and I spend our days.

My husband usually works during the day but he is a general contractor with his own busines so sometimes he's home earlier than usual and I get a break to things on my own sometimes. Sometimes I get a bit bored because things do get a tad monotonous. But then Matthew will smile and I forget about being bored! Staying home is sometimes depressing but then I have days where I love it. How about you?

Hello, my name is Leslie, stay at home mom, and I am also new to this board. I have an almost 5 month old (Jan. 10) baby boy. I am also looking for an online "mom" friend. I am the only mom in my group of friends, hardly anything in common now! Anyway, I tried feeding cereal to my son David just before Christmas. He did not do very well; I'm not sure if he is ready yet! We are in the process of moving, so I will try the cereal again in a couple of weeks; I hope he does better. Are you breastfeeding? I just abruptly weaned him...my boobs hurt still!! Gotta run, David is crying... I hope we talk again soon!

How can you tell your son was not ready for cereal. I have been giving my son a little cereal for three days now and he makes a weird face. Is that normal?
