Do you belong to a "moms' group?"

I'm a member of our local chapter of The Mommies Network. It's free to join and I've made a lot of new friends through it. I joined when I was pregnant with Connor. There's events each week and at least one mom's night out each month! It's awesome, I don't know what I would have done without them!

I was also a member of a different local moms group on meetup.com. It was a $10 fee to join, and they did a TON of events each week. But I found they weren't as friendly, accepting, or open. I only went to a few events and felt very much like an outsider, not welcome. So I left that group!

When I was pregnant, we took a Bradley Method childbirth class.

I have never joined a moms' group simply cuz I had no time for them when you get more then 2 kids it gets too busy and chaotic. I was too tired, not very social, and if I was going out I was going out for me !! I am home all the time thank you....but then I had problems with my eyes and had to give up my driving and then we moved a couple of times in the last 15 yrs and I did not meet very many moms as most of them were working moms. I had five kids in 9 yrs so I was "busy" ....lol Susan

I am part of a wonderful mom group on meetup.com. I love them and their kids! This group has made all the difference for my son and I! My group had a $12/yr fee, but they give a 30 trial period before you pay. If you don't like it, you aren't out anything. This year they've dropped it to $5.

I was part of a MOMS Club at one point. The annual dues were $25 per year. They had a lot of activities, but I only stayed in for two years. It wasn't the best fit. I just joined another local group that I found on meetup.com. I recognize one of the names already, so I'm hopeful that this will be a better match. This local group even has their own online community with a calendar and forum, so it seems really easy to keep up with the events. We'll see how it works out!
