mom's on a rampage!

I've had it with Natalie's attitude! The smart mouth, the hitting, the yelling, everything!!!

For anyone who knows anything about personality types, she is a Scorpio/Cat personality (a.k.a. Choleric Personality type). In other words, controlling, sadistic, extremely moody, bad attitude, pessimistic. On the flip side, this personality is a born leader with enough determination & drive to fuel an army. If she can ever get her attitude under control, I have no doubts that she'll be running her own corporation by the time she's 25.

The issue with her has never been with consistency... DH & I are VERY consistent. She was born with an attitude problem... it was obvious from the time she was little; but now it's time for drastic measures. They say the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over & over expecting different results.

Today I made out a list of household rules (applicable to EVERYONE), discussed them in detail with her, and put them on the fridge. I've also assigned chores, cut TV & Nintendo time back, and grounded her from her Barbies until she can show some responsibility & get her anger control problem resolved (this morning she yanked one of the dolls from her sister, breaking the arm - and tried to pretend that she didn't know what happened).

Things WILL change around here.

Desiree, good luck with the changes! Some people are just meant to be divas, lol. I think Olivia(19 mos) is one in training. :)

Hugs and luck to you Desiree! I know a little how you feel from my little one. He truly believes everyone should just do as he says!

My Dh and I were very consitent with him, and like you we made a descisions that enough is enough. We practice combat parenting now...lol.

Best of luck to you...I know you can do it!

OOOOOOOOOooooooooo, I have one of these =}

I feel for ya hon. My two boys are gonna kick her butt one of these days and I'm just gonna sit back and watch.

Kaelyn is and always has been one for needing attention, being bossy, and being mean and hateful when things don't go her way.

She seems to be growing out of the attitude as she gets older. Maybe year 8 will bring a new attitude.

Good luck.

Thank you Sherrie! I needed that laugh :o) I'm glad to know I'm not the only one who feels that way!

Thank Heavens Hannah is starting to stand up for herself and not let Natalie push her around. Actually Hannah is starting to go through the terrible twos, so she's starting the whole temper tantrum thing herself. Sometimes I feel like a bad mommy when Natalie picks on Hannah, and Hannah hits her in retaliation, and yes I stop the fight and they BOTH go to time out, but inside I'm saying "you GO girl!!!" LOL

Kinda makes me glad that I'm having a boy this time... Natalie needs to get off her high horse & realize that she's not the ruler around here LOL.
