Hello,

I'm a newbie to this board (see me on The Welcome Mat).

Today was a fabulous Monday until we got home from celebrating my DS's 3rd birthday at Mall of America only to realize we left our digital camera on the table at the restaurant where we stopped for lunch. It's a very busy restaurant with an elaborate host/hostess system so we figure when we called for the lost and found and were told it wasn't there that the employee who cleared our table surely took it.

My DH hated the darn camera and is glad at the prospect of buying a new one but I'm #1: angry that we were careless and forgot it, #2: mad that someone felt the need to take something that didn't belong to them #3 sad that we no longer have the great photos that were taken today.

Anyway, on a brighter note...we are thankful to have survived another hot day by staying in the AC. We hit triple digits in the Twin Cities today!!!

I look forward to getting to know all of you on the board.

Man, that sucks! I'm so sorry to hear that!

My DH recently forgot his Palm Pilot on an airplane and it hasn't been returned.

I would call the manager every day for a week just to ask if it was returned yet.

Awwww, hugs Michelle. I can feel your frustration at forgetting something so important - however, you were both probably focusing on your ds and that is how that happened. Don't beat yourself up over it. How luck you all were to be able to celebrate together.....

By the way, my brother lives in the twin cities area (Cottage Grove). Are you familiar with that area? I am in the process of trying to plan a trip for us to go visit him.

Welcome, Michelle! Looking forward to learning more about you and your family. I'm Wendy, SAHM to Katie (9) and Molly (6 - soon to be 7, on 8/3). I've been married to dh Mark for 15 yrs. We live in SE WI and love it here.

Hugs,
Wendy

That stinks! My DH left his business cell phone in a beach changing room last spring break. He remembered shortly after, and when he went to get it it was gone! Crazy because whomever took it wasn't going to be able to use the darn thing anyway!! We checked with the lost and found and no gone...taken... what is with people these days??? Doesn't anyone do the right thing these days? Hope it shows up for you soon.

That does stink that you have lost precious photos.
Maybe when the person sees them, they might change their mind and return the camera?
Try calling back in a day or two.
Sorry you lost the camera and the great memories.

Thank you all for sharing your experiences and for the advice/support. I know the restaurant hasn't heard the last of us...we did take a first step by calling a manager and reporting what we believe happened. We will attempt to at least get our memory card/photos back. Thanks again and thanks for the nice welcome!

Hi Wendy!

Cottage Grove is about 50 miles from here. Have you been here before? There are plenty of neat things to do and see!
