My neighbor tried to commit suicide

This is so sad...my neighbor is a single mom and she's been going thru alot lately. She just moved here a few months ago for a new job and it didn't work out. She moved back where she was living to be with her fiance and they broke up. She ended up moving back here since she still had a lease on her apt. Then her ex decided he wanted custody of their dd. She has been so freaked out about everything, especially the thought of losing her dd. I felt so bad for her, but had no idea it was this bad. I talked to her in the morning and she seemed to be in good spirits. When I went out a few hours later, there was an ambulance outside our apts. Her mom had called 911 after a phone conversation that scared her. Apparantly she overdosed on something. She ended up in the ER and is okay, but she's now at the mental health center for evaluation. I feel so bad for her little girl. She's only 6 and has been thru so much already. I ended up picking her up from school and bringing her home with me until her grandparents could get here. They live about 5 hours away...imagine how helpless they must have felt.
Please keep this family in your prayers.

Wendy,

how scary. You just never knows what a person is really thinking or feeling. I'm glad that you were there to pick up her dd. Imagine if your neighbours mom hadnt called, and her poor dd was waiting at school all alone. My prayers are with her. Please keep us updated.

Wendy, I will keep her and her dd in my prayers. I feel bad for her dd also. That is so much for a 6 year old to take. Keep us posted on how she is doing.

Well, not much of an update yet. We're still waiting to find out if/when she can be released from the mental health center. I've gotten to know her parents really well the past few days and they are wonderful people. This must be so hard on them. They just sold their home and were moving to a condo in FL. Now it looks like they'll be staying here for awhile. The little girl is very lucky to have them here for her. She seems to be doing fine, although she's very sad her mom is "sick" and wants the doctors to make her better. Poor kid. I'll keep you posted when I hear something new.
