She is a sweet girl, thoughtful, helpful, carefree, kind, sensitive.....BUT SHE IS A SLOB!!!!! It is to the point where I should go back to putting a bib on the girl and a messy mat on the floor. I'm not kidding. I went out to the kitchen just now and she has spaghetti-os on her sleeve (short sleeve, no less), her side (down by her waist) and all across the chest. She sits sideways in her chair (I let them watch SpongeBob) and there is food all over the floor! This is an every meal occurence. Then her bedroom.....I could go on about that, but really, I'm sure you get the picture. I just wanted to vent. When they are done, I will go to wipe the table off, and I will barely find a mess where Molly sits, but you ALWAYS know where Katie sits. She leaves a trail wherever she goes. I love her, I really do, but wow, I don't know where this messy bessy part came from!!
Thanks for letting me share....
Wendy

My cousin was always like that too Wendy... she finally grew out of it. Actually now that I think of it, so was my brother.
ok this is jmo, but I'd turn off the TV while they are eating... it sets up bad habits. Maybe saturday mornings would be ok, but it should be a right that is earned through eating like a young lady and not a slob.
as for the room thing, I've read on the flylady website how moms have used the technique with their kids. Find an area that can be their "shiny sink"... maybe the bed, night stand, or dresser, and work on baby steps every day. Make a chart that she can check off as she gets things done.
I really hope this helps Wendy...
I have a feeling Justin's going to be like that. He's turning 5 next Thursday, and still chews with his mouth open, shovels his food in, drops food everywhere, and spills on his clothes. I've threatened him with putting him back in a "baby bib." And he's so messy with his toys, too! Leaves them everywhere, and it's a fight to get him to clean up *anything* . . . Remember my Cap'n'crunch woes under Coffee Break this morning? Things like that are an every day occurrence! And I hate to be disgusting, but his aim isn't great in the bathroom, either! He misses half the time. I'm constantly in there with Clorox wipes when he's done. You're lucky Katie's a girl! I am so exasperated with the pee mess! It's a BIG DRAG. Not to get too graphic, but a lot of times he doesn't take the time to "hold" things so that it goes in the right place! Sorry if that's TMI, but I have to yell at him to "hold it" and I've even had his brother & DH demonstrate for him, LOL! He still hasn't changed. I know he's only 5, so I'm really hoping he gets "neater and cleaner" as he gets bigger. . . But I'm a little worried, I admit!
Now thanks for letting me vent, LOL!
