Kyle just called... he took Natalie to her yearly check up for me since I wasn't feeling well, and he said they did a vision test. One of her eyes is 20/30, and the other is 20/40. I had really hoped that my kids would have good vision unlike me... mine is so bad I can't even see the big "E" on the charts. We don't have the kids listed on the vision insurance, so we'll have to wait until we can get her added before I can take her in for a real eye exam.

awww. that sucks Desiree. At least now there are really cool glasses for kids. I remember when I got my first pair, the only selection I had were really big clunky plastic colored dork glasses.

my friends little girl got glasses recently, and they look so cool. I need to get a new pair for me lol!

omg we should post pics of ourselves in our huge plastic glasses LOL
I had some pink ones that swallowed my face. I'll have to find an old picture ;o)

I've been meaning to make an appointment for myself too... the ones I have now are so scratched and the protective coating is almost completely gone LOL. I can only get glasses every 2 years with my insurance, and last year I got contacts. Definitely time for some new ones.

I hope she thinks it's a cool thing... I don't want her to feel self conscious about it

Hannah had her vision tested at her annual visit and hers was 20/40 in both eyes. I went to the eye doctor thing at Walmart and the girl said that she didn't think that meant glasses. But she could know nothing. LOL I have to get insurance too before all of us go get real eye exams. I kind of have a feeling that the nurse didn't like Hannah being so shy so she hurried her up.

I am sorry she has to wear glasses. The good thing is, that it was caught.
I hope they get on the ins soon and get the glasses she needs. I am sure it will make a great difference for her.

I know how that feels. My little boy is 5 and just got glasses in January. He is a cute little boy and I sure didnt want him to have to wear glasses. But I'm used to it now. I'm glad they caught it because his vision was really bad. He could only see really close up and I didnt even notice it.

LOL alot of my friends (including me) have glasses just because they're cute! You can get glasses without prescriptions, and they are totally a fun accessory. Glasses come in soooo many cute styles, and it's totally not like it used to be!!!

I saw some of the cuter glasses when my son got his. But he doesnt take care of his that well yet, so he had to get the thicker frames. Maybe in a few years he can get some more stylish looking ones when he learns to be more careful.
