My poor sister

My youngest sister Katina called us a while ago. I guess she had a really bad fight with her boyfriend last night (they've been together a few years, and he's commitment-phobic and afraid to propose to her, but that's not what their fight was about. But he needs to get it together, IMHO). Anyway, she could barely talk on the phone. She suffers from horrendous migraines once in a while. They make her very sick to her stomach, and she can't even sit up without throwing up. She's actually gone to the ER with them before, they're so bad. Her BF Scott was nowhere around, due to their fight, and she was all alone in her apartment suffering with a really bad one today. I'm sure it was emotionally-triggered due to their fight. She had no one to help her out, and called Michael. I talked to her first, and asked her if she wanted me to come take her to the ER, and she said "I don't know, maybe." She sounded sooooo bad!!
I let Michael talk to her, and then he left to go give her some Compazine for her nausea, and an injection of Imitrex, which is a migraine med. He didn't have any Imitrex on him, so he was going to stop off at the hospital where he works to get some, and she doesn't live very close to us, so I anticipate him being gone all evening. We were going to have a Date Night at Home tonight, but this is so much more important. I wanted to go with him to help her out, but had no babysitter, so I'm home with the kids. I wish I could just go and rub her back or sit with her. I can't imagine being all alone and dealing with that. She sounded kind of scared, like something was really wrong, but Michael thinks it's a migraine and she'll be OK. I'm glad he's going to check her out though. Hopefully this way she'll avoid the hospital, but he said he would take her in and CT her head if he had any doubts as to the diagnosis.
I just feel so bad for her. It's hard to hear someone you love in so much pain and unable to help them. If you don't mind, send her some FEEL BETTER VIBES, or say a prayer, or whatever it is you do. I get bad headaches sometimes, but nothing like that (thank God!!), and it seems kind of scary when the pain is that bad. I don't know if any of you have ever suffered from migraines, but if you have, maybe you can relate.
And I feel like smacking Scott right now, LOL! He needs to grow up I think!!

I'm so sorry your sister is suffering with such bad migraines. Here. *FEEL BETTER VIBES YOUR SISTER'S WAY* I've never suffered from migraines so personally I can't relate to the pain and discomfort although I have had friends that get them and know what they have told me. It really doesn't sound fun. Your husband is a good man to go out there to help her and you are a good sister for letting him when you and Michael had plans for tonight. Maybe y'all can just delay it until he gets home, unless it's going to be really late. I hope you get an update soon and hear that the medicine is doing its job. Take care.

Sorry to hear about your sister!
So, so sorry for Katina, Sofia.
Your poor sister. Good thing she has the best BIL in the world, lol. Its been a few hours since your post, how is she now?
Chrissy
Thanks everyone!! She's doing better. The meds kicked in (yay!!), so it was obviously just a migraine.
Michael is still there. He made her some toast, and is staying with her a while to make sure she's all the way better, and doesn't need anymore drugs. He doesn't want to leave her all alone when she's been so sick and out of it. He says he'll come home when he's sure she's fallen asleep for the night. We'll make up our Date Night. This was way more important. I love my sister a lot.
Thanks again for your thoughts and prayers!!
A lil late since she's better now, but I'll still send some *~*~* positive vibes ~~*~**~ her way!
Her BF sounds like a bundle of babiness and I hope he makes it up to her for not being there with her tonight, AND for causing her so much stress to trigger a migraine.
She really is lucky to have Michael as a BIL, like you don't know this, but he is such a terrific guy!
I get migraines, have since I was 13, so I can completely sympathize with the poor girl. Give her a "Nicki Tip" wouldja? Tell her the next time she feels one coming to drink VAULT, it's a Coke product.
Thanks for the tip on the VAULT!! Wow, and you even posted a picture for me, LOL! I will *definitely* pass on the knowlege. I'm sure she'll try anything at this point!
I'm sorry you suffer from migraines too, but I'm glad you found something to help.
I'm sorry i'm so late responding to this... i'm so glad your sister is feeling better.
