I took her yesterday to get enrolled, and she was still insisting that she was NOT going to public school. The teacher came by and took us to the classroom to get her locker & cubby set up and familiarize her with the room. After being in the room 5 minutes and hearing Mrs Jacobs tell her all that they were going to be doing in class the next day, she couldn't wait to start LOL.
She was so excited this morning, and 12 minutes before time to leave was standing by the door all ready complete with backpack, saying "are we EVER going to leave????!!!"
It felt a little strange not having her around today, and I did ok until I deleted the homeschool lesson schedule from my calendar... that made me a little sad, but I still think this is the best thing for all of us.
Hannah was screaming this morning because she thought she was going to get to go to school too, and kept asking all day "momma where's Natalie?" Poor little thing was so lonely and disappointed, but I think this is going to be good bonding time for us. It was so funny because while I was talking to the teacher yesterday, Hannah kept picking things up and telling her what color & shape they were. Mrs Jacobs was so impressed she said that it was too bad that Hannah wasn't old enough to start LOL.
Natalie had a great day, and can't wait to go back monday. I'm so thankful that she has such a great teacher who seems really supportive of helping us deal with Natalie's ODD. We're going to talk to the school counselor as well to see if she can help us some too.
Hopefully now I should have a little more time on my hands and can keep up with the boards a little better. I've missed everyone!!! :o)

I am so glad to hear that Natalie was excited to go. Only you know what is best for your children so please do not be sad. Poor Hannah she misses her sister, give her a big hug from us.

Desiree,
That is so great!
Hope she enjoys today as well.

Desiree, I know you made a tough decision here, but it sounds like it was the right one. I'm glad to hear Natalie is enjoying school. I know how strange it is to have the first one off to school and be home without her. You will get used to it. It sounds like her teacher is the perfect fit for her. I'm sure she will do beautifully.
Hugs,
Wendy
