oh does it ever happen alot lol! In fact, a few weeks ago, my dh was working overtime all weekend, and his dad called to say he was coming over for a visit. I said to him that if he came over after 3:30pm, then dh would be home, otherwise he wouldnt be here. FIL cut me off and said he didnt care if dh or even myself were here because he's here to see the kids, not us. Thanks lol. My mom is always interupting me mid sentance to talk to my dd. I've told her time after time that she doesnt listen to us anymore, but she hasnt changed. I've just gotten used to be ignored lol
Well, no, but thats cause i dont get out much... I have 2 friends, one will be my SIL and the other i have had for almost 13 years or so... granted they always ask about the kids, most of the time before & if they ask about me, but i rarely talk to the rest of my fam so its hard for them to do that i guess.... maybe when they innterrupt & if your kids are old enough, say something like " we are really trying to teach the importance of not interrupting to our child, thank you for helping to set a good example.." and the same type of thing if they ask a question and dont bother to wait for the answer.. HTH Shannon
Yes it's really annoying. Alot of people do that. I don't think they mean to (usually) but nevertheless.... I try to be careful when I talk to kids and their parents. :)
I'll trade you!! LOL! I *wish* my family ignored me & DH and only paid attention to our kids. They are far too nosey about our lives, and if I could limit it to the kids, that'd be great.
But you have my sympathies. . . Probably when your DD gets older, they'll notice you exist again.
