I think we could help with a little more info...

Is he a picky eater? Is this a new thing? Has there been any mayjor life changing event?(starting school?)

My son (a 1st grader) isn't an early eater either. I do manage to get him to eat oatmeal in the mornings though somehow.

I would try not to make it a battle because he will win. Maybe you could ask him to help you think of things he might like to eat in the mornings. Write down his responses (hopefully there will be some) and then go buy them. I don't buy sugared cereal but if it was the only thing he'd eat, I think I'd buy some just so he would be getting something in his body before school. Even if it's just a granola bar or a milk and cereal bar.

Is he a picky eater or is he just not hungry? If he just doesn't like breakfast foods, maybe he'd want something else like pb&j, or macaroni and cheese.

That's a hard one I know because you can't MAKE him eat. Just remember that kids will not let themselves starve. Maybe once he get's used to his routine it will get better.

Good luck!

Will he eat anything at all? I don't know if you have tried anything beyond breakfast food, but maybe he will eat something different. I had a friend who hated breakfast food and growing up her mom would give her soup for breakfast. No kidding.

Maybe he is just too tired. If he was not used to getting up so early its probably hard to eat. My 5yo goes to bed at 8 and gets up at 645 for school. If he stays up late, he is not that hungry in the mornings.

I don't really have any other ideas except to ask him if there is anything he WILL eat for breakfast and try to figure it out.

I know last year there were some mornings for K4 when he ate a toaster scramble and a juice pack in the car on the way to school because he was too tired to get up til 730.

Good luck.
