Hi I am Jessica and new here. I need some support. I just quit my job 3 weeks ago to be a SAHM. My husband lost his job on Aug. 14 and was out of work for 3 months. Since he was let go he was denied unemployment. I supported us on my small salary along with help from family. We have 2 girls one 7 and one almost 1 year old. My husband finally got a job but work was temporary until he passed a state licensing exam in a field he know nothing about. He failed the test 2X and was let go from this job. Now we are both without jobs and no money. We lost our new car during the first 3 months he was unemployed, it was repossessed.
Our credit cards were charged off and we are being taken to court for judgements. Our one vehicle is a small truck and the brakes are failing, the front tires are bald and it failed inspection. It will cost about $1,000 to get everything fixed. Things are a mess and to top it off I have some major health problems and I need to be able to go to the doctor but now we dont have insurance and I am worried about running out of my meds. My girls have insurance through the state which takes a load off my mind. Any advice would really be appreciated. Sorry to complain as my first message. Oh, by the way my husband will be taking the exam a third time (which cost us $70) on the 12th and if he passes (he missed by 2 points the first time he took it and then by 1 point the second time he took it) then the company will probably hire him back. The reason that I quit my job was because it would have cost more for me to work. Daycare costs, one vehicle would have made it impossible, no public transportation and my work hours.

Welcome!!!
Welcome to the board. I, too, am sorry to hear about all your troubles. I would suggest seeing about food stamps or some type of aid like WIC. That would at least help with groceries.
I'm a SAHM of four - Rebecca, almost 10; Megan, almost 8; Logan, 2; and Hayden, almost 10 mos. I know what you mean about daycare. I don't think we could afford to have me working and put all the kids in daycare!
Good luck to you and keep us all posted. Big hugs being sent your way!!!
I am so sorry to hear that you are going through so much financial worry right now (((hugs))) I hope something turns up for your dh.
I am Gemma, 26 and a sahm to Michael 7, Joseph 2 and Alyssia 1 and I hope to have another very soon.
It sounds like you all have a lot on your plate!
Welcome to the board.
First off ~~Hugs!~~ I will keep you in my prayers. I can't imagine what you are feeling going through so much all at once! This board is a great place for support, jump right in and post with us. I'm Rose mom to 5 Ages 20 years to 20 months..Married to Doug (who I adore) with our first grandbaby on the way in march..Yeah! Crossing my fingers for a passed exam!!
I'm so sorry that you are going through this right now.
Welcome to the board. I'm so sorry to hear about your job and finances stress. We're going through something like it. My dh quit a job to go to a "better" job that turned out to be HORRIBLE and got let go for some really stupid reasons. He's been working temp jobs since then, but just had a really good interview this week YAY! I can't work because I have epilepsy, but even if I didn't have epilepsy I would sahm, since dh and I ran the numbers and realized if I worked the first $10/hr would go towards the expenses of me working (day care, gas for the car, clothes, etc).
Luckily, we have dh's family next door and they help out when the ends don't meet.
*hugs* Glad to "meet" you.
