I just recently became a stay at home mom with my 17 month old son. Looking for some fresh and creative ideas for how to handle my days with him. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

There are tons of things you can do to fill your time with him. If you are looking for playgroups...create one yourself with moms like you, join Parents as Teacher or MOMS groups.

You can fill your days with learning activities by researching ideas online. Make a Feely box putting things with different textures in it...Make a feelings book with sandwich bags and pictures of your child experience different feelings...make a game out of a pringle's can...Check out Lilfingers.com or familyfun.com. There is some much you can do with him.

Thanks so much for the reply. I was wondering if there were any neat sites I could check out online for some ideas as well. I'll definitely look into the ones you suggested. I must admit, I was not born with a flair for creativity. I can't even draw a stick person and am always picked last as a partner in Pictionary! My older brother is so artistic and creative...he must have soaked it all up so nothing was left for me! Thanks again!

If you are not creative...Another idea you can look into is Brighter Visions. You receive a educational box for your child once a month with a theme. I have done this with both of my kids. It cost but you get an activity box that included a craft, cd, game, activity book, and book. Both of my kids loved getting the box and doing the activities. The boxes are age appropriate. I started Jed when he was a baby.
