a while ago that my favorite aunt was going to Thialand to help out after the tsunami??? Well, she got home on Friday night, and we had dinner at my mom's. She brought over 2 Thai teachers who wanted to check out schools here, and see about setting up an exchange program. They were so lovely!!!! It was amazing to sit and visit with them. A wonderful night.
My aunt met up with a doctor there, who is a local guy (from here) and he started a foundation to help out the kids and families who were left with nothing. They have already made enough money to open a school, and buy sewing machines for the polio/street kids there, who all they "can" do (so far, medical help is next on the list) is sew skirts and such. (She bought most of what they were selling, beautiful table linens, runners, scarves, skirts..all silk, handmade, beautiful!!!) Anyway, by the time she was off the plane, most of it was gone, we had a pick of the leftovers!!!
It was amazing, and I am so proud of my aunt. After she lost my uncle, she didn't know what to do, it took 5 years, but I think she found her place now. She will finish her few months of fundraisers here, and go back for a few months at a time so she can make sure the money goes where she wants it to.
If you are so inclined, please say a prayer that she can continue to help and improve thier lives.
Thanks,
Lesley

Wow Lesley, that aunt of yours sounds like such a wonderful strong woman.
I pray she is able to spread more love and compassion to other people in her life.
We're expecting our 3rd miracle!

What a blessing:) I hope she continues to do the thing she loves:)
