I went shopping today for groceries for the next two weeks and to wrap up my Christmas shopping. Okay, to start and finish my Christmas shopping. I was very proud of myself because my goal for groceries was $150 and I spent $135. However, my overall goal for the day was $500 and I went over by thirty bucks. I bought a couple extra things for Noah for Christmas while I was supposed to be shopping for DH. One of the things I bought him was a big Tonka dump truck that was at Walmart for almost $40 last time I saw it. In fact, DH and I almost bought it for him for Christmas but decided not to. Today it was on sale for $22. Score! I had to get it. What's really going to irk me is when I see it for ten or fifteen bucks the day after Christmas. LOL

It was a long morning, though. Noah gets tired of being stuck in a cart for so long and he got cranky because he got tired and I was tired from being up so early this morning. When we got to Barnes and Noble and just let him run around and I followed after him. How fun would it be to be so short and wander through a maze of books at a store like that. He had a lot of fun and then we went to the kids books area and he played with the Thomas the Tank Engine train set they have set up there. Then he ate some Cheerios when we were at Old Navy and passed out on our way home. In fact, he's sleeping now and it's awfully nice. My arm hurts from lugging him around. Hey, if nothing else, having babies is an excellent arm exercise.

I'm tired just from reading your post. I am also REALLY jealous of only $135 for 2 weeks of groceries!!!!

It was very, very budgetted. LOL And cheap food. We're talking spaghetti and sloppy joes on the menu. :) I also managed to find a nice ham at a discount price of only $10.95 which thrilled me to bits. I couldn't grasp the idea of spending thirty dollars on a ham or even upwards of fifty to a hundred on a prime rib which DH originally wanted. I thought I did pretty good - in this area. :)

if you want cheap meat go to walmart after midnight when they mark the meat down because it needs to be sold asap. its good meat and if you freeze it its fine. i know what you mean by spending too much i spent 465 on christmas and other stuff we needed. i feel bad about it because i know we didnt want to spend that much.
