I got the bill from the 2 visits to the ER for Dalton.
It is $600 only because this is the limit for the deducatable we owe before they pay the rest.
OMG
This is not including the $600 I am going to have to pay when the baby comes and the OB bill.
Thank goodness it was not the end of the year, cause it would recycle and I would owe another $600 if anyhting happened.

Just needed to vent.

Hugs Mel!! That would be a tough one to swallow. I feel very lucky my DH's employer pays for his insurance in full and we only have a 50$ deductible for any hospital stay. And obgyn is covered in full including delivery.

The health system is such a train wreck! I don't know who's supposed to fix it. I definitely don't want a government run health system. Other countries have that, but when they need superior care they come to the states. The reason medical costs are so high is because so many people don't have insurance and can't pay their bills. Hospitals have to stay affloat. At dh's hospital they treat absolutely anyone who walks through the door. You don't even have to give an identification. Surgery, intensive care, whatever. That's the way it should be, for sure, but a lot of those bills are written off and then we pay the price. What a mess! We're lucky to have great insurance, but I worry about others, my sister esp, who don't. My father owns his own business and drives a school bus just for the insurance. Polititians are too busy with their thumbs up their butts to figure out how to fix it. I wish they'd quit arguing and DO something!

Maybe we should be poor, would be better off.
Seems they get all the good things in life, free food, housing, medical, ou name it.
Sad to me since we work hard to pay opur bills, dont ask for help and when we need it, get screwed.
