I know this a big debate right now especially over schools serving chocolate milk.

I'd give them flavored. Milk is still milk..even with flavor. Gotta pick your battles with things like that. They make mixes that are healthier than others....but I still would.

My kids don't really like milk either, they do get it in thier cereal and they love cheese & yogurt. Overall they eat fairly healthy so I don't worry a whole lot about them not getting a whole lot of cereal. They don't get it in school because the lunch program they are on only allows regular. My DS does drink strawberry milk every now and then but more as a treat than a subsitute for regular milk. I don't really like milk either so I can't say much to them about it.

My ds would never touch plain milk.

My son loves plain milk, but he is allowed to have chocolate milk at school. I rarely buy it for at home. I think in the past year I have bought is 2 times (half gallon each time) and I actually drank most of it. :)

Milk is milk even when flavored so I don't see what the big deal is.

The big deal is flavored milks have twice as much sugar (typically as HFCS) as plain milk. It is like drinking soda with added nutrients.

Yeah, I have way too much more to worry about than sugar. :) I do buy organic but I don't recall if there is HFCS or not. I should look next time I buy it. If my son drank a lot I guess I'd worry but he doesn't. He only drinks white milk, water, and some whole fruit/veggie juice. He is very picky tho due to his autism/sensory issues. I'll take whatever nutrition I can get into him even if it means some extra sugar once in a while.

I see that Nesquick has no-sugar added chocolate milk.

Personally, I agree with the concept of too much to worry about vs.

I love the idea of the banana milk!
