Has anyones husband had the old snip snip done?
Chris goes tomorrow to have it done and I was not sure what he needs to expect, not only for the surgery but also afterwards.
I am going to look after him for the few days he might need me.
Anything I should do or have on hand to make this easier for him?
Someone said get frozen bags for him, anything else?
Also, how long could he be in pain? Don't want him to milk this for all its worth

My brother-in-law had it done and he seemed ok after. He had some discomfort, and of course he couldnt left anything over a certain amount of pounds..I guess you can get him icepacks, I remember my bil having to use them, lol. Goodluck!

my bil had it done a few months ago, and he was fine. He said it was a little uncomftorable for a day, but not "aggony" pain, just not great. He was told not to lift anything for the first 2 days (this included the kids). My sister said that was the biggest pain of the whole ordeal.

Oh go ahead and baby him-hehe. He will need it. My husband had it done about 4 year ago. He had the one that is not reversaable at all. They go in and cut out the tube and then cartarize each end so no chance of reconnecting. He was sore afterwards, some bruising on and around the testicles. He said it felt like someone had kicked him down there with the pressure. Poor guy. Taking warm baths helped. Frozen peas are the best and yuck be sure to label them so you don't eat them-haha. Peas hold in the cold better than any traditional icepacks. Tell him to just follow the doctors orders and wearing a jockstrap helps to support that area. Be sure to get all the sperm checks done. It took my husband more than the recommended times for his to come out negative. Plan on a nice surprise if you don't-hehe. Some men have no problems at all and others whine and fuss. I went ahead and babied my hubby. I felt he deserved it. Trish :)
