Please pray

Thanks Sofia for thinking of me. We live about an hour outside of St. Louis Mo. This area was hit with a lot of snow and ice last night. There have been car accidents, fallen trees, etc. There are 500,000+ people without power right now. We are lucky that we still have power and enough food to last for days. Ladies, please pray for the people who are with out power. I know that there are shelters opening, but I don't see how it will be easy for them to get there.

Rose you can come to Texas ;o)
Chrissy I am definitely praying. I had to go out to my car (in the garage) this morning, and I had no coat on. It was 25 degrees outside, not nearly that cold in the garage, but omg I was freezing. I literally started thinking about people who have no electricity, no coats, and even those without homes. This time of the year is so bittersweet with all the families that go through things because of one reason or another.
I can't imagine seeing my children hungry and freezing because of no electricity. I hope many people have gas so they can cook and a fireplace to keep warm.
Do they have any estimation when they will get the power back on?
yuck Chrissy,
I'm glad you still have power. The storm that went through here in the last week left us without power for 2 nights, and its not fun, especially when there's tons of snow and its freezing. Hope the storm passes you by quickly!
I don't know when they will start getting power back. Our Directv keeps going in and out, so the kids have been watching movies all day. I didn't catch anything on the news about when people will get power. I'm so blessed that all I have to live without is Directv. Thank you God! :)

Wow, Chrissy, what a disaster. And I guess if you don't have power, you don't have heat (duh. . .) I feel sorry for the old people, and the homeless, who sometimes freeze to death in conditions like this! I will definitely say a prayer. Please stay safe and warm and keep posting to us so we know you're OK.
And don't send it my way!!

I will pray for all those without power. I feel so sad as I sit here with my heater blowing on me.
Tami, working in the hospitals, does your DH go to work in all kinds of horrible weather, like blizzard conditions, etc? I know mine does. He has never stayed home due to weather!! There could be 5 feet of snow and ice on the ground, and off he goes! It makes me worry for him when the weather's really bad.
