Touching my baby!!! I am sick and tired of people stopping and touching her hands and her face! Then when I politely ask not to, I am either ignored or given a dirty look. Help..what would you do?
PS Someone touched her hand last week, I didnt have any wet ones handy and now she is sick :(

oooh! I glare. I throw fits, seriously. "WHAT ARE YOU THINKING?" I asked one woman loudly. Seriously. You touch my baby, you die.

I think I'm alot meaner than normal, because he hasn't gotten his shots yet (they couldn't fit him in until Oct 4th!!) and I'm already skittish taking him out.

I'll usually explain if I feel it's necessary, although I'm not really one for apologizing or explaining. If someone reaches out to touch him, I'll step back. It's my baby and no one on earth is going to hurt him.

I'm very mama bear these days, lol.

Do you have a license to carry a concealed weapon? Or perhaps you own a giant bubble you can put her stroller in? I'm not being snide, I'd seriously consider both of those options, lol. I hate it when people do that!! When my oldest was a baby my mom had a boyfriend that wanted to smother her with kisses. OMGosh, it drove me nuts!! I didn't know this guy from adam, really, and he was putting his mouth all over her! I ended up kicking him out of my house, long story, I'll spare you. He's now my step-father, yipee.

I say just keep doing what your doing and warn them if they get too close. People really should be more considerate.

I absolutely adore babies, everybodies babies, but I am also very cautious when it comes to touching anyone's child for any reason. I've always asked permission first and then usually will only touch a foot for instance or wiggle a finger into a belly, some place where it isn't likely that germs will transfer. I almost never hold a baby without washing my hands first (I even did that with my own lol). I've even gone so far as to make my kids ask permission and wash their hands before handling their siblings and cousins. Maybe I'm just weird.

Tell people your baby just had some serious diarrhea and you would hate for anyone else to get sick.

I hear you. In fact besides my own kids I think other people's baby drool and slime is icky. I hope that doesn't sound terrible!

And really, as an adult, how would one feel to have someone come over to them and grab their cheek? Or play with their hair?

: )

I know where you're coming from. I've had a couple strangers touch Charlie and I was shocked! I ask myself if I ever did that to babies before I had him? I really don't think so, it's such a bad idea!

I don't even like making small talk sometimes, like what are complete strangers going to do with their judgements on my baby's current stats???

I would tell them not to touch your baby and thats it. No reason to give a reason, its plain and simple, you say no and thats it.

Hi there, I'm a mom of a little girl also. I know how you are feeling about everyone touching your girl. I had the same thing happen to me. But what ever you do or say, they aren't going to hear you. They don't care. You can do everything possible to keep her free from getting sick. But think about it when you have someone baby sit her, or she goes to day care. Or if you go to birthday parties. All kids are carrying some form of illness. All you can do is keep the wet ones with you. and be careful. Hope it help to hear that.
