As some of you may know, my dh & I are ttc #2. Have any of you taken a hpt after af was late, and it was negative...did you end up pregnant, and it was just too early to tell??? This is driving me nuts, I am always on schedule, to a T, and now I am 2 days late, but it says neg...I was hoping to be able to give my dh that as a b-day present yesterday.

Anyway, has this happened to you?

That has actually happened to me, and to my sister in law twice... wait a few days and test again.

This is how I found out I was pg with my 3 year old! I took a test but I just knew that something was wrong when it said negative. I took another test 3 days later and it was positive..

Sending you some get pg vibes!! ~*~*~*~*

Maybe you should wait a few more days before testing again.
You might night have enough of the chemicals your body produces yet.
If you are really anxious, you can get a blood test done.
Good luck and I hope you get good news.

Everyone is right, you could be pregnant. They say there that false negatives are possible ... false positives are very unlikely. So test again in a few days. Maybe your HCG Levels just weren't high enough yet. Good luck!! Fingers crossed.

If you are NOT pregnant, I highly recommend "Taking Charge of Your Fertility" by Toni Weschler. It contains very valuable information that gives you a perfect grip on your cycle and helps you either achieve or avoid pregnancy by observing fertility signs. It also has answers to most practical conerns and questions about TTC/fertility. It may seem a little dense at first, but "charting" fertility symptoms has worked for me and several friends ... even ones who were having trouble conceiving. It took me a year to get pregnant with #1. But I was charting while ttc #2 -- merely practicing and warming up to the whole technique (figuring it would take many months again) -- and I got pregnant after only the second month. There is a support board on ivillage for charting, too.

Cheers,

D.

thanks to everyone, I'm glad I'm not losing my mind (whatever is left!!!!)

as far as the taking conrol of fertility book, my friend lent me hers, but I am not into charting and temps ect. I wish I was, my sis is, I just can't seem to find the time !!!! If i have to take a temp as soon as I wake, and before I get out of bed, well, the reson I wake is because dd is screaming bloody murder, and it's 4 am, and I don't want to wake dh, or our landlords upstairs!!!!!!!!! aggghhhhhh....I wish I had the patience/space to do that!!!

I will give it a day or two, and re-test... today I thought I had a cramp, but it went away, and no sign of af... please send me good STRONG baby #2 vibes!!!!!!!!!!
