Preschool while I'm at home?

Hello,
I'm new to this board and I have a question. Currently I'm going to school, (parttime) and my daughter (will be 5 in October) goes to the University daycare. Right now she goes half days usually three or four days of the week, occasionally I leave her until 3pm if I have a Dr. Appointment or something like that.
She will miss Kindergarten in fall (the day is September1st and her b-day is October 1st).
I'm also expecting, due the end of September. I will take fall semester off and student teach in spring.
I found this preschool I like, but the only program they have is full day (8.15- 3.00).
I will need daycare in spring but I will be home in fall.
The problem is I kind of feel bad for leaving her there all day long in fall, when I'm actually at home.
Does anybod else here have one of their kids in preschool or something like that although they're home?
I guess I'm just feeling guilty....

There's nothing wrong with having kids in preschool even when you're at home. All 3 of my boys have gone 3 days a week from 9-12 since they were babies - they started out in a Mothers Morning Out program when they were babies and then moved to the preschool when they were 2. It gives them a chance to make friends and do fun things, and it gives me a chance to clean house, get groceries and run errands without having to drag them along. If you're worried about the length of the day, you can always pick them up early - they shouldn't have to stay until 3 if you don't want them to. Or you can shop around for other preschools - I don't know where you live, but there are a ton of choices in my town. Good luck!
