No we don't celebrate Valenine's day. We may go out to dinner as a family, but probably not. It's just not anything we celebrate. So I have no memorable Valentine's Day. :o)
LOL Jessie! What a coincidence! Michael officially proposed to me in a restaurant too. He had the waiter bring my ring on a dessert plate after I ordered dessert, got down on one knee, asked me to marry him and put it on my finger when I said Yes. And then everyone clapped!!
Did our hubbies watch the same "How To Propose Marriage To Your Sweetheart in 3 Easy Steps" video??
Of COURSE we celebrate Valentine's Day, LOL! I'm married to Dr Romantic! He always does something wonderful for me on Valentine's Day. I always buy him a gift, too. For several years now, I've gotten him a nice Winter work suit (they're all on sale now!). I'm thinking of doing something different this year, though. Not sure what yet.
I leave the planning up to him as to what we'll do. He's good at that, and likes to surprise me. It's always something wonderful. If it's a work or school night, we'll go out on the nearest weekend. I see Valentine's Day is a Wednesday this year, so we'll do something that Friday or Saturday.
Valentine's Day is actually really a special day for us, because it is the day that Michael first let me know that he liked me as more than just a friend, when I'd had a huge huge crush on him for months, LOL! We were only 15 and in 10th grade. This was 23 years ago!! He gave me Hershey's Kisses. That is the reason I have one in my avatar ;)
So I guess that would have to be our best Valentine's Day ever. That day in 1984 was the beginning of an amazing and beautiful lifelong relationship, and the day when our hearts first "synced up". So Valentine's Day has a lot of meaning for us :)
Valentine's Day has never been a special day for me really.(even when I was married I got nothing)If I ever did get something nice or had a nice day,I do not remember it,been too many decades ago.
I am not sure what Dh and I are doing for Valentine's this year as money is tight. He always buys me a little something but as with every other holiday I will have no clue what he gets me. The most memorable Valentine's was with my Dh as I have not really been with anyone else during that time. It was the first year we were together which was 1999. He was getting ready to deploy to Bosnia on a peacekeeping mission with the Army. He had already proposed but he still bought me a beautiful necklace and we really just hung out together. We really haven't done much the last three years as I have not felt great on valentine's. I am not hoping for anything other than a good day as DH is probably gonna be off since the kids have a WIC appointment that day. Kashmir
