Question about cars?

Does anyone here drive a car? I went car shopping today and Im concerned a medium sized car wouldnt be big enough for the kids and me. I have a Yukon now and I have more than enough room in that thing, too much room actually. Im spoiled and now I have no idea what would be practical for us. By the time I put in car seats and a stroller in the trunk, there doesnt seem to be a lot of room. I could just imagine going to the grocery store and having to pile groceries all throughout the car. I really like the payment and type

We actually drive a Toyota Corolla, and we manage to get all three kids back there (2 carseats). We have plenty of trunk room too. It's a little crowded right now b/c of the carseats, but for our budget it works just fine. One thing you need to consider too is the gas mileage... you'd be saving a lot more than $40 a month with the price of gas as high as it is.
I've had a Nissan Sentra too, and my poor car went through he%@ and back and kept on running... wrecks, flood and hail damage, was driven all over the country and even towed to another state when we moved. It was an excellent car.

Yeah, I know, the gas mileage difference isnt too different because the SUV is small, not sure if it is really considered an SUV? I guess it's such a huge change to go from a full sized suv to a car, but Im sure it will be fine. Im use to having a huge space to throw bikes in the car and groceries....and whatever else I need to take with us. Thanks for your input Desiree!:)

One of my good friends has 3 little ones (2 are in car seats) and she got rid of her car, because there wasn't room for groceries. She got a HondaCVR (I think thats what its called...like a small SUV?)

Anyway, she loves it, and says its great on gas, and although the back seat is a little tight with 3 kids, she still has a trunck/cargo area to put a stroller and groceries.

What are you looking at?

Lesley,

I use to have a CRV and I really liked it. The payments on a Honda are too much for me, they want alot for CRVS. I was lookng at the Pontiac G6 and the Buick Rendevous.

I get to drive a lot of cars because my DH is in the car business. My car is a Ford Expedition and I LOVE it. I had an Explorer before that but with 2 kids, 2 dogs and I need to tow a trailer with farm animals occasionally I needed the bigger vehicle.

A couple ideas for you to look at that would work for me if I did not need to tow a trailer the Ford Edge (it is a crossover) and the Ford Escape (small SUV). If you are looking more at sedans the Ford Fusion and Ford 500 (also sold in the Mercury line as the Milan and Montego) are good options. The 500 has a HUGE trunk - I think it is as big as the trunk in my mom's Towncar - I was able to get 2 strollers and groceries and still had room.

Just a couple options that I had not seen mentioned that you might consider.

HTH!
