Question about my 20mo old

I am just curious...my son's toys are kept in his room and (just recently) he started bringing them ALL to bed with him. I will go in there before I go to bed and he will be surrounded with 20+ toys...is this normal? Why does he do this? Should I be taking his toys (quietly, mind you) out of his bed every night so he doesn't get hurt or woke up by a "noise-maker"?

I wonder why they do that? My mom said maybe he didn't want the new baby to take them (ha!)

My son did the same thing around the age of 2. He did it for a few months until I finally convinced him that his toys needed to sleep in THEIR room (the closet). THis was the same time that we convinced him that his "phunt" (his stuffed elephant) had to stay in "daycare" during the day (his bed). But for a while we never were quite sure what we were going to find in his bed. One night it was Buzz Lightyear and it took DH and I forever to figure out where "infinty and beyond" kept coming from!

With my daughter it's books! I find half her library in there when I go in to check on her.

This is very normal. My almost 4 year old still does this on ocassion, though only with stuffed animal, usually. As long as there isn't anything on any of the toys that could cause him harm during his sleep (such as a string on a pull toy -- could get wrapped around his neck in his sleep), and they aren't keeping him up at night, I see nothing wrong with it.
