Hello,

I am writing with a concern and perhaps even a little guilt.

I did not mean to direct it at you. I think you deserve any accrued sick and vacation time you have. What I felt was wrong was the idea of deceiving your boss into thinking you were coming back when you had no intention to - which you did not do, but apparently is an ethical gray area for a lot of people (its pretty black and white to me).

I wish your boss would leave you alone. Most people give 2 weeks - 1 month notice. Unless you are about to have the baby, you have time to make the decision.

First of all, congratulations on your next arrival. I was in the same situation as you. I didn't decide to quit my job though till after my daughter was born. I took a personal leave of 12 weeks, which was the maximum I could take. I used my vacation, sick, etc. to cover most of my pay for the time I would be out. After the 12 weeks if I didn't come back it was assumed I didn't care to continue my job. I couldn't do that to a company I had been so loyal to and vice versa. I went back for about a month and then put in my two weeks. I think they suspected it would happen and they were sad to see me go but that was just how it was. Don't let them pressure you. You have your rights as well as them. You better read up on your handbook for the company policies though to cover your bases. When I took my 12 weeks off, I believe it was a government rule for personal leave. Check into it. They can't fire you while you are out. You may need a note from your doctor. I did. Anyway, best of luck to you. I hope my rambling helped a bit!?!
