I am one of the newer moms. My name is Liz. I am 24, married for almost 4 years, sahm to 2 boys, Seth is 3y and Payton is 1-1/2y. I live in Nebraska. I also have one big mutt, Taz, and we will be getting another mutter in a few weeks, they were just born. It will be an indoor puppy.

We live in a very small town of about 300 people, so things are pretty boring around here. I am really glad that I found this board. I am also really looking forward to the book club. My son starts preschool this Sept. is a town about 15-20 miles away and I pland on visiting the library thier so I don't have to come home for and hour and then go back.

I love having these two little ones. He is the easiest, lol. My three year old is ADHA, so every day is diff and I have to go by ear. My biggest problem though is her trying to "help". Yes, my husband was gone for seven months last year. I don't know if you watched the news, but my hubby is in the 3rd ID (3rd infantry division) at Ft Stewart. They were the first in. He is also in training right now for two weeks, yikes. And he leaves in oct for thirty MORE days of training before he flys out again in Jan for 12-24 months in Iraq. I don't know if you friend has a good support base where she is, but one thing I learned is that the first thirty to sixty days are the harder. Once you get your own schedule going its ok, except at night when the kids are in bed and you actually have time to think. If you ever needs to talk to someone who has btdt I am available. I know how much it helps. I look forward to "talking" to you as well.

Welcome to those I have not welcomed already.
My name is Mel. I have a wonderful husband, Chris, whom I have been married to for almost 6 years. We have two boys Andrew(5) and Dalton (8 months old).
I have been staying home for about 4 years now and I just love it.
Glad to have you all to the board and hope you enjoy these ladies as much as I do. We have a great bunch of people on board.

my little guy has add, yet another thing in common! how long have you known with dd? we knew something was different with trist almost from birth, but things got absolutely awful at about 12 to 15 months when we went to a behavioral therapist and had him eval'ed. they diagnosed him with add and possible aspergers, and we followed their treatment plan for a while and then realized that things went much better if we just followed our hearts and did what we felt was best, ie, no meds, just a lot of patience and a lot of firmness. he's almost two now and he's actually blossomed into a great child with a sweet personality, but for a while there i really didn't know if we were going to make it, lol.

my poor friends husband is natl guard, so they don't have any of the wonderful resources that most fulltime army families have. they're pretty much on their own. i keep trying to talk her into getting on here and checking out the army wives boards, but she's not a computer nerd like me, lol. they're really struggling, her kids are 5 and 3 and are really up their dad's butt =D so they're falling apart without him. plus the older one just started K and there's a lot of stress with that, and not having dad there the first day was really hard for all of them. i'm pretty much all she has so i've been doing as much as i can, but noone replaces daddy, kwim? my first husband was army and we honestly couldn't hack the separations, it just killed our marriage, so i have a lot of respect for the families that CAn do it. any tips for how i can help out?

Gosh I have to get ds from school so I don't have time to read the thread but here's my info:

I am Dolli (34 on Thursday!), SAHM to Jay 5, Emma 2, and Joey 1. DH is in the Air Force and don't get me started on his work schedule - its enough to drive me back to work just to see an adult face on a daily basis.

My oldest is in full day K, the other 2 are at home with me all day except one morning a week they go to moms morning out.

Right now my hobby seems to be sitting with my butt glued to the computer chair, but usually I try to sew, scrapbook, and work on the neverending task of getting rid of junk and clutter in my house before our next move. I am also starting to train for the Danskin sprint Triathlon next year. Join me!

Hello everyone!

My name is Diane and I am a WAHM with 2 wonderful DS, ages 8 and 10. Thank goodness school has started again...I swear I thought I would go nuts! LOL! A few years ago I left my career in hotel management to be a full time mom and it's the best decision I have ever made.

DH is a military man that is seldom home. I truly have much respect for single parents everywhere. I can't complain though, at least he is still in the US and has not been deployed (yet) to Iraq.

I look forward to chatting with you all soon.

Diane
