I am really proud of our town. The probation officers are out in droves making sure child molesters are complying with their probation this Halloween.
I know it is no guarantee but it is nice that our town tries to look after the kids.
They are making sure sex offenders in our town know they are not allowed to participate with Halloween, and making sure they do not even have Halloween decorations up. According to our local newspaper they are warning them that they will be patroling Halloween night making sure they are doing as they are supposed to.
So cheers to my town!

Scary isn't it? I remember when I was young, we would get the neighbourhood kids together, and we would all go out. Our parents weren't even with us! I was about 7 )my sis was older) I can't imagine ever even letting my dd walk to school on her own (until she's older of course, I won't be holding her hand in the 12th grade!!!), let alone go out at night to trick or treat!!!
It is sad that it happens in the first place. That you have to be scared your child will get hurt while doing something fun and celebrating a holiday.
