All of my kids still believe though Alex being 9 1/2 I'm starting to think either he doesn't and hasn't said anything or he is getting too old to believe. I admit I haven't been too careful around him this year. I think in general it is fun though we've had some years where we've had to do some damage control to keep the fantasy. I'm hoping the older ones don't ruin it for the younger ones. Luke is pretty excited about Santa this year.

Well, mine is barely 1, so he doesn't even know what's going on. We will do Santa though. I loved having Santa presents as a kid. He always brought us one really nice present and we loved it. DH never had Santa. I'm not sure why. I kinda think it was just not important to his mom to make a big deal out of holidays for her kids. She didn't even do birthday cakes. His older sister started that when she learned to bake a cake in the 5th grade. Anyway, DH is super excited about being Santa and making a HUGE deal of it. And yes, we'll do the "real" Christmas stuff too.

Have you heard of the PNP? It's the Portable North Pole. Last year, you could make a video for Santa to send to the kids with really cool personalization. They're doing it again this year, and I don't think they have all the bugs worked out yet. Last year, you could upload images of the kids for Santa's scrapbook along with an image of the gift they most want. This year, I got the kids' photos uploaded but it never asked for the gift image. I'm going to try it again in a week or two. Maybe they have more options then. The kids loved their messages last year.

Oh, yes. One other thing I need to do is get some plain red wrapping paper. I usually wrap the gifts from Santa in plain red paper, and there isn't much left this year.

That is a great idea! I always buy a special Santa paper for each of the kids and then hope they don't remember the next year when I use it up on normal gifts!

My two youngest ones believe in Santa, but they are 5 and 3. my 12 yr old knows thet truth but since she does she keeps asking me things like....are you going to be able to buy Christmas this year? (bc i'm waiting for DH to be home and he wont be here until the 22nd) Have you already bought our presents? When do you wrap the presents?Do you have them here? I think it's really annoying and I just try to keep her comments out of ear shot of the little ones. I put the fear of God in her about ruining the Santa thing for them. She is a lot older than they are and they have a really long time to go before they have to grow up.

I did that with my younger two last week and they loved it. My 12 yr old wanted a message from Santa too even though she "doesn't believe" in Santa anymore. I think she wants to believe but she thinks she's too grown up for it. The North Pole thing is fu for the little ones and they are even on the "naughty" list this year. I'll redo it later this month with them on the "nice" list. They got a kick out of it. It's really a neat thing. That and the Santa tracker from the weather channel on Christmas Eve.
