so this is what happen, yesterday i went to target for some things then we went to
CHICK-FIL-A (it's like mcdonalds but only chicken) it has a playground so i usually let my children go play while i eat for some peace and quite, well i went and got my ds#1 he is 5 yrs old and dd she is 3 yrs old, when i'm giving my son his food he says "no!", so i'm like what's wrong are you not hungry , he said no this kid in the playground was kicking him in the head and he said i tried to defend myself but just couldn't,(but i know my son is not a very agressive child ),well i go up to the boy's mother and say your son was kicking my son in the head and face ,so the mothers' friend looks at me w/ the only dumb look, like WHAT?, as if it was no big deal, and i say well he needs to SAY SORRY,
the mothers friend is like she'll handle it , but it was so nonchalant,in my head i'm
fuming, i'm thinking"no one hurts my child", so the little boy comes over to my son and does apologize and my son goes that's ok , but i say " it's not nice to hit other people",
but i did feel like hitting the lady and her friend , but i have self control.anyway had to vent b/c i'm still angry about it.

That is exactly why I try to avoid those playlands AT ALL COSTS (besides the germ factor)! There are parents there that sit and chat and ignore their children. And if something happens, they act like it is no big deal. Their children are usually perfect, anyway you know (read this sarcastically!). How do we teach our children to behave in this world when you have grown-ups who can't behave, themselves! Oh, my goodness, you've gotten me onto my soapbox. Stepping down now - Just know you are not alone. I'm sorry you had to deal with that. Times like these, I just want to line up all the kids in the playland and let them all hear me tell them the rules!!

Hugs,
Wendy

I hate when parents do that. I would never tell another kid what to do or punish them, I always go to the parents and ask them to speak to their kid.
Now if they continued to do it and nothing was done, then I would say something.
Glad he got the apology, hopefully the child does not continue to do it to other kids.
What a good job on how your son handled it too.

I would have been livid! Some parents just don't have a clue...

Good job to you and your son for handling the situation so well!!!!

You handled that great! I wish I could do that but I am awful with confrontations.

I personally have NO problem "parenting" other peoples children when they hurt mine... apparently their parents are watching and if they are they dont. I am nice about it, like when we were at Mc donalds and my 2.5y was coming down this slide. there were 10ish yr old sitting over the opening, and i told them that a lil girl was coming down the slide (mine) and i would hate it if they fell on her...( complete with raised eyebrow ;) ) they moved. I know i shouldnt have to, but no one else did so i will protect my own. Kudos to you for speaking up!!!!
