Shakes his head left to right

My son just turned 8 monthes old. For the past week, every once in awhile, he will quickly shake his head like he is saying no, maybe 3-5 times in a row. He just started this, it's happens only when he's sitting playing with his toys. It worries me because to me it looks like it just happens, not like he's doing it on purpose. Other than this he is developing normally. He sits by himself, he scoots around with his arms & is begginning to incorporate his legs into his movement. He has two teeth & uses his pincer grasp to pick up food. I don't know what it is & I'm kind of nervous for his next appointment. Has anyone seen this before?

I have not seen it the way you describe it.
I would not worry too much and just wait to the dr appt and go from there.

Nate 13 months now, and he does that when he's happy. It seems to give him a little "high" and he just laughs and giggles. He likes to do it when I have the spoon full of food and just inches from his mouth. That really gets him laughing! :) It's probably nothing to worry about, especially if the rest of your son's mannerisms and development is normal. You might want to mention it to your ped just for your peace of mind, but it really doesn't sound like anything is wrong. :) Just enjoy his enjoyment.

(It's just cute.) :) But there's nothing wrong!

I know that! I was just adding the teeth in there to support my thoughts on him developing normally. Thank you for your response & I will be sure to mention this to the doctor. I appreciate everyone's help. ~ M
