I've tried various ways of keeping a cleaning schedule over the years.

I think you are on the right schedule doing 2-3 things and "getting them done"...when my kids were small I "tried" to do everything everyday and seriously it is not possible with little feets under you most of the time...do not beat yourself up if you do not get everything done on the scheduled day...you are going to have some off days....the house will not fall down if you do not clean the toilet..lol...our schedules changes all the time as our needs changes....and I hear you with the kitchen...it is never clean for more than 2 hrs in my house....(rolling my eyes)...lol just smile and move on the next item on the list.... The kitchen... LOL, yeah my goal is once a day doing dishes, sweeping etc... someone is always eating and making crumbs and dirty dishes so I'm not even going to try keeping up in there.

Wow! That's almost three times the house! Do you find it's almost three times the mess too?

I don't have a set cleaning schedule, but I should probably assign certain days to certain rooms.

Laundry is my big downfall, too. I have no problem actually doing the laundry. It's getting it all folded that presents the challenge. I think if I had a laundry room on the same floor as the bedrooms it would be OK. Instead, our washer and dryer are in the basement. If I fold the clothes as I take them out of the dryer, it's OK. I just can't manage to stay in the basement long enough to get that done since all the action is on the first floor (and, of course, the kids won't stay down there with me).

It actually isn't 3 times the mess.
