Try the Library! Even tho he is small, little kids love the library. Most have a summer reading program, and even tho he can't read, you can read to him. I used to keep track of what we read to Molly and then she would get a prize of some sort. It is a good way to get him interested in reading.

Also, sounds crazy, but even a stroll around the mall is nice. It gets you away from the t.v., you are getting exercise and you could even meet a friend there. You don't even have to buy anything.

You might try playdates with a friend once a week. Swap whose house you meet at, and then don't let the kiddies turn on t.v.

Go to Michael's (or some other craft supply store) and find some inexpensive projects for you to work on with him. Kids love to play with playdoh. I have a recipe for homemade playdoh that lasts a super long time. My girls will play with it for hours. Let me know if you want it.....

Hugs,
Wendy

What do we DO?

I take Noah out nearly every day (in the mornings). The pool, library, coffee place that has a kids play area, bookstore (he loves to read the toddler books on the couches), zoo, museums, parks, playdates, his sandbox and kiddie pool, the mall (where there is a kids play area), out for lunch with friends (or just me and him), pet store.

Then we have lunch, nap and play time or he sometimes watches TV (but not too too much). I think a little TV is ok (childrens programs). But I find all day is a lot for a little kid. He needs some physical activity to get rid of all that toddler energy.

Hey Jenny, you might check out this website: http://www.first-school.ws/
they have a lot of really good ideas for preschoolers.

My kids also like to build "forts" in the living room with sheets & blankets, and will play in there for hours.
