Andrew wanted to play soccer this year.
There is only one place to sign up for soccer in this town.
So I sign him up. When it was time to start the season, the problems began.
The owner of the organization was late getting the info to the parents.
The when we were suppose to have our first practice, no one showed, we had no coach and only 5 players.
We had a parent at the last minute take the coach position. We only had one practice before their first game cause the first practice, the coach did not bring anyhting to practice with.
We ended up getting a new coach, one of the parents on the team to take the place of the first coach who quit and did not bother to let us know.
We really only have about 4 members now playing and will not get anymore this season. So our kids are playing the whole game without a break.
We missed the first take of pictures and the owner scheduled a second one but did not bother to tell us it was cancelled. Then refuses to set a new one up. GRRRRRRRRRRR
I would have yanked Andrew out already if he did not like playing so much and if this organization was not the only one around here. Hate to make him wait till he is in middle school to play with the school.
I wish this guy would get a clue and organize it better or help us out.

Is there any way to consolidate with another team?

I am sorry you had so many problems. Last year our problem was the other end of the spectrum. DS was in U-6 and the coach was way over the top with practices and stuff. He constantly chided the parents for missing or coming late. I called him one night to let him know ds was going to miss an evening practice in a couple of days for a dr appt, and he gave me a hard time.

We start Winter Soccer in January. I am considering asking my dh if I can volunteer him for assistant coach. He should be back home by then. At least then I would feel a little better about it all, plus we are going back to parks and rec instead of boys and girls club where we played last year.

Good luck.

I wish there was another place to take Andrew to, but there is not, except the base here and we are not millitary.
Seems like we are in a no win situation.

If it weren't a 2 hour drive from your town to mine, I would suggest coming here. For U-6 at both Boys and Girls and Parks and Rec there were at least 6 teams. And it was the same on up the age brackets. Our base even has its own team that is part of the parks and rec league. We are going back to that team this year.

I made my suggestion assuming that there was more than one team in your son's age bracket in the league. And I thought my town was small...

We are metro status now, so I guess that makes us all La-De-Dah with our soccer leagues and new stores and mall expansion. LOL Now if they would only finish adding in that lane on the interstate. Its taking forever.
