Yesterday I was talking to someone at school. She was filling in for the secretary for the afternoon and I know her well. She and I were chatting while I was doing some busy work for Molly's teacher. She runs the "sub-line" for the school district. She said that since I am already an employee (because of the playground) I should apply to be a sub in the schools as an instructional aide (basically a teacher's helper) or for clerical. Voila! I'm already signed up. She got me the paperwork right away and we faxed it back. I'm now on the list to be called to sub in any of those areas! Woo Hoo - extra cash!! And, I can still do the playground at school. The beautiful part of it is once the girls don't need me at home as much, I can go into that full time - she said they usually hire off the list, before anything else!! Yay - foot in the door!!
Also, I filled out a survey for a local tv station about a month ago. They called last night and wanted to interview me and use my comments for a new promo (ad) they are doing! Um, o.k.! I won't be ON t.v. - just my comments were recorded over the phone and they will use them in the new ad. Kinda neat, huh? Katie got all excited and she started running around yelling "we're gonna be rich!!" LOL - kids!
So, anyway, that is what is new for me. Thought I'd share.......
Hugs,
Wendy

That is great on both of the good news happening at your home.
I would love to work for the school when my kids get older. My mom was a para and I always loved doing it.
Good luck and I hope you get called to sub soon.
That's great, Wendy!! And it sounds like a great school district you live in, with the instructional aids and such. So many teachers are left to do it all themselves, which is too much work and takes valuable energy away from the actual teaching.
Congrats!!!
Erin
Wendy,
That sounds so cool.
Kate
Wendy, how cool!! I'm excited for you! I'll bet you'd be a great substitute teacher. Congratulations!
